I dress the modern gentleman
by Dandy

Launching with S/S 2010,the Dandy will open its doors in Berlin, Mitte.
A fashion atelier specializing in made-to-measure men’s garments, Dandy of the Grotesque marries the quality and discipline of traditional tailoring with the ease and accessibility of modern menswear. By having an eye for detail, distinctive silhouettes and a fine selection of Italian fabrics, the Dandy is able to prep the modern gentleman with a garment that is absolutely unique.
The Dandy inhabits an ever changing and inspiring world, made manifest in his Atelier. By offering all the exclusivity of a gentleman’s club, each customer is welcomed as an honored guest. Here, the Dandy creates an exclusive dialogue between the designer and the customer through guidance and advise on everything from cut and fabric, buttons and accessories, to create the personal and unique look.
The unique collection is designed and produced in Berlin and will be presented twice a year. Being a collector of ideas, thoughts and moments, the Dandy picks up stylistic movements instantly, creating a visionary men’s collection in which every piece is an original. But unique doesn’t mean unaffordable: Dandy of the Grotesque believes that style is created by mind, not money, and so the prices are as made-to-measure as the garments.
“I love to read and interpret the characters of the people who I design for”, says Itamar Zechoval, designer, founder and alter ego of the Dandy. “My work is to find out their interests, how they feel about clothes, the way they move, and together we can create perfection.” Itamar’s creative approach is theatrical, dramatic and yet ironic, as manifested in past works like international prêt-a-porter collections, costumes and image items.
